Completed 1:24 BMW Z1 Roadster by Revell.
Not a bad kit but some trimming and cleanup to get everything to fit cleanly.
I chose not to go with one of BMW's original colour choices as they were all incredibly bland and boring for such a quirky and interesting car.
The Z1 was originally launched as a concept but interest and demand were high enough to encourage a small production run.

Looks good. Do the doors drop down into the body shell? Bit of a step to get in.

Nicely done. I know little about this BMW and didn't realise that they had gone for doors that drop down into the body. Radical.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Thanks guys.
Yes they do, this was originally a concept at a time when no-one offered a roadster and interest was high enough they did a production run, they continued with the Z range up to the Z8? currently but all subsequent ones have conventional (boring) doors.
Look up videos of the doors opening and closing on youtube, it's fascinating and the window will open and close with the door too, it can be driven with the doors open and the windows can be conventionally operated independantly.

Thankyou, you have some great bike builds.
Bikes and Car kits are my main interest, working on a Bimota Tesi 1D at the moment.
The ZZR1400 will be interesting, I have a friend with one and would like to build a replica for him.
