I especially like the two 109s, Michael. The cockpit framing makes a huge difference.

Thanks Migrant, such a great kit from airfix want to do another. Thanks for order those eduard masking kits for me.

I like the open canopy one.

I think i used acrylic on one of them which i forgot.

The farman and Vicking coming along very well. I am impressed. Are those decal or painted on? How do make a panel?

The Zero paint has dried more into nice thin first coat of beige green:

I think to wait 24 hours i need to apply final coat around 7-8 pm tonight. Enjoy a large cup of coffee and going to watch four left turn racing haha...

Final step prep work: I cut sprue excess to allow painting of small parts:

Image

Image

I glue drop tank together and got the wing tip. I might paint option items and display loose next to finished plane.

Image

I left some sprue to parts to attach my alligator clips (recently bought 24 of them) to ease of painting.

Image

I do the detail painting will the plane paint is drying (12 hours left of drying on first thin coat) I will apply a second coat.

I have plenty of time to try to do my best with the detail painting and gluing. I may decal the plane before attach small breakable parts.

There is decals for the undercarriage doors all the others are on the main body. I will attach the engine and engine cowling (already painted) and

prop once main body is dry.

Nice models Michael.
I had a quick look on Wikimedia Commons on museum Zeros, and it does seem to be reasonable for the rear of the prop to be black (antireflective) and the front to be grey or metallic.

PS Go Red Blacks

I painted the plane yesterday at 9:55 pm. So it has been 18 and 1/2 hours 4:30 pm now and since it was a thin coat it should be cry/cured by now!?

Nascar is just about done...going to finish painting plane body....post photo to follow...

I painted the pilot's flight suit 29 humbrol. 85 Coal black his boots and cap and add a touch of testor flesh/creme for a face and hands.

Image

I painted the landing gear panels 90 beige green and other small parts. The struts and tires were Coal black with hint of 11 Aluminum and rims.

Image

Image

Image

I pledge the canopy (4 hours drying time) then will try to mask and use 90 beige green acrylic for lines and scrape mess with sharpen sprue.

Image

Image

The cleanest and complete cockpit i have done.

Image

Will be ready to decal plane at 5 pm tomorrow....just apply 90 beige green enamal second and final coat (24 hours dry time)

Thanks The Great Auk, Thank Airfix and humbrol! i try to use humbrol with my airfix models like this 90 humbrol beige green!

I am add more humbrol per need of each kit i buy.

What is your current build on your workbench window??

Currently watching sports and drinking dark roast coffee

Waiting on enamal's of plane body to dry 5:00pm then clear/decal/assembly/ canopy

The small parts are dry as i use the gift set acrylics

The masking of the canopy is going to be hard many frames and many window

My iphoto 5 camera will not focus on a pilot. Need get out my small camera and buy memory card for it ...and more light, a background sheet.

I heard a collapsible laundry booth will serve as a photo booth?
