Camouflage done and dusted.....
I've almost forgotten to fit the gunsight, so that will be done before the canopy goes on!

I too used only to paint with enamels but I have started using acrylics: Revell are very good but I have also used Humbrol to good effect. I am a hairy stick man too and have learned from a past master with acrylics (Epeeman whom I know personally). He advises thinning down the paints with water and applying many thin coats. On large surfaces the first couple of coats look absolutely awful, but as the paint builds up you get a smooth finish which is very difficult to distinguish from a spray finish. (At one modeller's meeting Epeeman was told that he MUST have sprayed his models!). Do give them a fair try - they are odourless and the brushes are easy to clean. As Darren writes they are also easy to mix: in short I am sold on them!

Re: DazDaMan's Spitfire
This Spit is looking really good, and a fast build too.
Re: DazDaMan's Spitfire
Cheers for the kind words! I should hopefully have her finished by the start of the week.

Re: DazDaMan's Spitfire
Very smart indeed!
Best wishes

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Re: DazDaMan's Spitfire
Thanks.
I'm not 100% happy with it - and I haven't added the wing stencil lines, either! - but there it is.
The sharp-eyed among you will notice that the Q on the port side broke up slightly - I somehow managed to fix that, but you can still see the joins. I think Airfix moulded the hinge of the cockpit door a little too big!

I like it too, Daren, very smart - those lovely full-span elliptical wings too, you can't go wrong really
