The Great Auk's Aukward Britannia

Pre-1980 boxings of any kit, but preferably hard to obtain -- something that would make a collector cringe to see built.

That is a really excellent result, Auk and is impressive brush work to achieve the colour scheme - white in particular is a difficult one IMHO.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Work is the curse of the modelling classes!

I like to say these "simple" civil schemes are deceptively so.

Splash has it right, more than a couple of light coats of the white and a couple of coats of silver over primer.

I'm glad you enjoyed the Britannia. It was a treat to build it.

Superb work on the Britannia Britannia, Auk. ...and good to see someone else that likes to double up subjects and liveries :-D I did a painting of a Britannia Britannia coming in to land in the background of an SMT bus. You mentioned having done paintings yourself, you should post some images.

Excellent build. The white paintwork turned out particularly well.

Man, when I saw that modest looking bag with its modest looking header card, I expected a real "hunchback" of a kit to come
out in the end - - - but the result is FANtastic

Perfect. I can almost hear the whistling drone of the engines. A beautiful build.

All the best.
