Groovy. I think I still have the 1/32 scale Revell kit too, but will make sure. I've sold so many (gasp!!!) over the last year I think I've got stuff I haven't!! .
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!

Acknowledged: 6 weeks from 1 Feb 2018.
I will try kitbashing an Airfix/Plastyk Hunter. Or something easier if I am a bit busy at the time.
thanks,
David

My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.
Re: Hawker Hunter gb
Welcome aboard. Looks like this will be a great build. I have decided on a Matchbox Hunter. Not sure of the markings yet but probably a 79sqn RAF Brawdy. T7.
All the best,
Greg

Do you have the Aeroclub corrected nose, Greg? Highly recommended! I used mine to good effect.Gregers wrote:I have decided on a Matchbox Hunter.

Re: Hawker Hunter gb
Not got that but will look out for one. I found that with careful sanding the nose can be made to look better even if it's not perfect so if I can't get one I will still do the 2 seater.
All the best,
Greg

Re: Hawker Hunter gb
We are now official. As in on the calendar. I have to say I am so glad we are doing this one. Quite a few years ago I was at the BAPC ( British Aviation Preservation Council) 40th aniversary do at Rolls Royce, Derby. Sat at my table was Steve Hague (then president of the BAPC, now sadly deceased) Charlie Brown (ex RAF and now flies Spitfires etc for a living) others in the Aviation industry like John Farley (Harrier test pilot) amongst others. The conversation turned to "what is the best looking aircraft.?" I suggested the Hunter. The others were in unanimous agreement. So that's my only claim to fame folks. BUT do you good folks agree?
I do admit I would love to build my 1/32 Hunter for this one but I doubt I will get the bench time in six weeks to do it justice.
I have decided I will do the Matchbox Hunter as a two seater and use the kit nose, just re profiling it, the single seat nose I will do as a cockpit section, mounted on a trailer if I can find one that is suitable.
All the best.
Greg.

Re: Hawker Hunter gb
The pending section of the calendar shows 1st to 18th of Feb...... that's a bit less than six weeks by my arithmetic
Best wishes

I just noticed that John Adams has been active this evening on Britmodeller. If you contact him he might have one of the noses. You can PM him thru Britmodeller, he usually responds to those but not emails. He goes by the name 'John Aero' on BMGregers wrote:Not got that but will look out for one.
