Tamiya 1:35 Gepard

Post by Canuck2016 »

Good day all!

This is Tamiya's 1:35 Gepard. Again, an older kit, but it builds up into a good likeness of this impressive-looking vehicle. Low parts count, and perfect fit throughout. A fun build, and a great choice for anyone looking for a quick project!

Cheers!

Very nice. I like the mud splashes on the sides and rear.

Very smart looking build, and the weathering has worked a treat
Best wishes

Thanks, all!

Clashcityrocker, the dirt on the skirts is just a thin spray of Tamiya Flat Earth (I always thought it was round!), then a spattering of water and pigment flicked on with an old toothbrush. Easy and fun! If the pigment goes where you don't want it to, just wait for it to dry, then wipe it off with a damp paintbrush. Cheers!

A great build of this Tamiya classic, Canuck. I'm a longstanding fan of these older Tamiya armour kits which, if care is taken, can be made into excellent models as you have ably demonstrated here. Top work.

Thanks, Shaun! I completely agree about the old Tamiya kits. They may have some features which seem naive now (open sponsons, slots for batteries and a motor, toy-like moving parts), but they fit beautifully, are quick and simple to build, and look great when they're done. And they're surprisingly cheap!

A very good build, of one of my favourite tanks.
I wish, that I knew what was doing!

That looks fantastic, Canuck. Chalk me up as another fan of old Tamiya armour.
Regards, Paddy.
