Graff Spree'ish?

From Apollo and Soyuz, to Gerry Anderson, Irwin Allen, Star Wars and Trek to Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica and those strange, doe-eyed Japanese school girls...to any model kits you can think of, that only exists in imagination.

Graff Spree'ish?

Post by kpnuts »

Hi all well we were at our friends caravan and birthday money was burning a hole in my pocket, as always I nipped into their lms and got this

Now I realise I could put it with the Bismark and the George V my son and daughter got me for my birthday but, me being me, I seldom stick to the rules I'm thinking a space battle ship (obviously a name change would be required suggestions welcome) I'm thinking shiney chrome, lots of nice curves maybe some lasers, what do you think.

Well, you don't amount to much as a space battleship if you don't have some facility to support and launch a small number of fighters at the least, or better yet, whopping big humanoid robots. Clearing the torpedo tubes from the lower part of the rear deck could make for a nice semi-open hanger. Some valuable real estate on the bottom is now available for use, so either a second deck with gunturrets and possibly some extra superstructure, or maybe a triangular configuration (not very traditional, but hey), again with conspicuous nasties on the two bottom sides. Huge gunports in the bow for the doomsday gun around which the entire ship is built are also popular, I hear. From what I've seen, the main guns on space battleships look remarkably like the wet navy big guns, so I'd leave them in place. Point defense gatlings are good, as are multi-cell missile launchers, to facilitate the traditional missile swarms that have little effect but make for great fireworks.

As for chrome, unless you're building a toaster, it's a bit much.

A rather intriguing start. I have a few old tubs in storage that I have thought could do with a space dreadnought makeover too.

I like it, this would make a great GB subject.
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

That's a great suggestion. Alan. I would not be averse to that notion. Best thing about flying dreadnoughts is that they can go up on the ceiling with the aircraft!
