Fujimi 1/72 RF-4B Specter. Finished.
Fujimi 1/72 RF-4B Specter. Finished.
It's time to remember how it is done.
This is 1980's kit, will have to sharpen and clean up with sandpaper. I playfully began and remembered F-4J from Fujimi with all nuances https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/gregers ... 13836.html;

Re: Fujimi 1/72 RF-4B Romeo Fox or Specter
I thought some of the cockpit photos were of a different model then realised the glazing was for the cameras on the underside of the nose. Looked like a Russian bomber. Good to see you building again!

It is good to see you building Novo and you've got off to a great start. Looks like this older Fujimi kit will keep you busy with the filler and sandpaper!

Looks a strange way they have split the fuselage up. Those joints along the lower fuselage sides look tricky.

The Revell Phantoms are nice kits, it must be said but to my eye Fujimi got the shape better. Looking good so far!
Best wishes

Yes, on another forum, colleague in hobby said me? that Revell Phantom very narrow front part of the fuselage.
But at Fujimi all these sanding work... Plus almost invisible joint lines of the panels.

Oleg, the fit of that RF-4B looks terrible. I have only seen Fujimi's UK Phantoms and they are great. Looks like you have a lot of filling to do. Good luck.

FG.1 better that others Fujimi Phantoms. It's absolutely other kit, but with same problem http://uamf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?p=34432#p34432;

Otlichny, Novo! I can remember being surprised at how poor the intake fit on a Fujimi early Phantom was myself. I remember thinking I could get a badly-fitting, rather ordinary kit of an F-4 at a much more reasonable price
Keep up the good work though - she's going to be a beauty.

Spasibo Spaceowl!
This like NOVO Phantom kit which was produced in Minsk toys plant in USSR time, but with recessed panel lines and thin legs parts.
Prepare to painting. Small parts that were left out for various reasons, I have restored as best I could.
Canopy was masking tape from 3M, as an panel lines only allows you to use it, as in the case with the rest of the Phantom from Fujimi.
As a tribute to unification, Fujimi gives all recon Phantom the same door of the front landing gear (for Air Force machine), exactly one of two doors.
I took correct part from Hasegawa kit. Size of main wheels so big, than not allowed attach this in legs. I find in spare parts True Details wheels, which will be used for this kit.
And paint works.
And paint works. Same like in past. Nothing new. Gunze Sangyo.

Looks like you have some lovely detailing in the cockpit of your RF-4B, but I have to say that the fit of the parts in general leaves a lot to be desired. Good luck
I shall follow your build with interest.
