Sounds reasonable to me John, the gunner could be the Ace.jRatz wrote:
A question just to clarify your "flown / crewed by an ace" - that would include an aircraft where the air gunner was an ace ?

Re: 'Aces High' GB
Do we have a time frame confirmed for this one?
I was just checking the calendar and noticed it's not appearing yet. Second half of the year has lots of space.

Re: 'Aces High' GB
Apologies chaps I've been a bit busy of late. I will PM all those interested and propose a new date of September through until the end of October. I'm away for most of August on holiday and we have the Blitzbau too. I'll be in touch soon.Old_Tonto wrote:OK Pilgrims. If no one else wants to volunteer I will step up as GBL. Any objections?
Thought not.
So as far as I understand it we are looking at an 8 week build time. Looking at the calendar I would propose beginning of August to end of September (8.5 Weekends). Anyone object to that?
So to recap any model aircraft in any scale in any time frame as long as it was flown / crewed by an ace and achieved 1 victory in the Aircraft.
Figures and busts in any scale ok but must provide a reasonable facsimile of the person being represented.
Mini Dioramas and Vignettes of 'Aces in Action' are acceptable.
For the purposes of this GB Ace Status is a minimum of 5 air to air victories.
What's not in the GB scope. Panzer 'Aces' U boat 'Aces' multiple bombing mission or ground target kills.
WHIF's or Movie schemes.

Does anyone disagree with this description? If I don't here back from those who expressed an interest I will message them this coming week. So shout out if you are still keen on this GB or I'll start something else.

Re: 'Aces High' GB
Gee, would you just look at this nitwit! Doesn't he know there's a Fokker Triplane GB in October that could easily conflict with the Aces GB if they ran at the same time since so many German aces flew tripes (one very famous one in particular..). Some people!VickersVandal wrote:Do we have a time frame confirmed for this one?

So anyway, I've flagged this with O-T by PM and my suggestion is not to have these two group builds overlapping at all for that reason.
Oh, and just to be clear, in case it wasn't obvious, I'm still keen as mustard to put a build in the Aces GB.

Re: 'Aces High' GB
Looks like the GB dance card is pretty full now so should we postpone this until next year?
I'm going to be away for the rest of August but feel free to chat amongst yourselves and we will see what decision we come to.

If we need to postpone then let's. All good here. I have more than enough builds and restorations to keep me busy till then.

Has this one fizzled out? If so, I think I'll do the idea that I had for the Figures and busts GB.
I'll no doubt think of something else if this one does get legs.

Cheers O.T. I'll see if I can get Screwball Beurling done for the Figures G.B.

I want to add my name to the list. I have been collecting kits of top Aces from different services in different conflicts so this is right up my alley.

Re: 'Aces High' GB
I'm guessing with the Falklands War there might be a Sea Harrier FRS.1 or Harrier GR.3 pilot or both with more than 5 air to air kills?
