Daz's Dodgy Dogfight Double - **FINISHED**

Select the most rubbish kit in your stash, one that probably has no other chance of seeing a workbench, and build it however you wish - and have fun doing it along with others likewise occupied.
The GB runs from 27 Dec through 31 Jan and your host is DazDaMan.

Painting of the Spitfire is complete (save for the over-sized bomb pylons - yes, I decided to fit them, and the ordnance!).

The Messerschmitt is almost complete, although the pilot still needs doing. And I still need to decide on a paint scheme...!

Well, I'm calling the Spitfire done!

The colour scheme is a generic late-war scheme, with my own personal touch for the squadron markings (and yes, those codes did exist, albeit on an earlier version of the Spitfire!).

The usual Revell Aqua-color acrylics, plus a load of spares box decals.

The Messerschmitt is also going in a generic Luftwaffe scheme....

The Spitfire turned out well and the 109 is looking good too.

Daz that’s a Starfix kit you are not supposed to produce such excellent result. People will now think they are good kits.

That last picture of the Spitfire, it looks seriously mean.

And here it is....

The paint scheme is a bit of an odds-and-sods one, not based on any specific machine. The artwork below the canopy actually comes from a '109E, but I liked the look of it, so on it went!

You can see, with both these models, how much out of whack the design is compared to other 1/48th scale kits. The decals are 1/48th scale - and seriously over-sized compared to the models!

But, there they are, done and dusted. I actually have another Messerschmitt and a Spitfire IX in the stash, so will do these another day. (I may even convert the '109 into a Buchon!)

Remarkably great finishes considering the material you had to work with!!
Best wishes

Well done on both. Not much doubt about Starfix's lack of accuracy is there. I think the 109 looks more like a 109 than the Spitfire looks like a Spitfire. Both would look good in a cartoon, don't you think?

Most excellent, Daz!

No better demonstration of your enviable talent and skill could be made than turning these turkeys into such sharp, finished models!

Still amazed,

Well done. Not everyone has the courage to tackle Starfix kits!
