Oh, No! - My Stash is Getting Unfeasibly Large! *2018*
Re: Oh, No! - My Stash is Getting Unfeasibly Large! *2018*
When I was younger.....MUCH younger I built every Airfix airliner except one. I never got my hands on the L1011 Tristar. Thay has now been rectified. One Airfiix Tristar now in the to build pile.
All the best.

My first ride in one of those was in a cabin full of screaming kids on their way to Disney World ... never got over that ...

Oh, so looking for a Tristar!!. Not jealous. Much... (I do have a Hasegawa 1/200 scale one but the Airfix one would be nice and fit into my other stuff).Gregers wrote:When I was younger.....MUCH younger I built every Airfix airliner except one. Looks like someone is planning on building some old Frog ships.
My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

I think it's 1/200, I don't think Hasegawa did 1/144th??. I did want to convert it into an RAF Tristar but not got around to it yet.Maverick231 wrote:God its been a long time since I bought a 1/200 Airliner!

That must have been a complete headache, in more ways than one. you could have been 'nice' to them and explained that Mickey was in fact a six foot rat with rabies. That may have subdued their enthusiasm.jRatz wrote:My first ride in one of those was in a cabin full of screaming kids on their way to Disney World ... never got over that ...

I got the Hasegawa one too. For the same reason. I now have both Tristar and DC10 in Airfix and Hasegawa. Going to be time to break out the 'bone saw' when I build them.MarkyM607 wrote: Oh, so looking for a Tristar!!. Not jealous. Much... My first sight of one was when I went up to what was Aldergrove Airport 15 miles from Belfast to watch one arrive. No one told them an empty jet landing uses less runway than a full one to take off. It sat there for 9 months until they extended the main runwayjRatz wrote:My first ride in one of those was in a cabin full of screaming kids on their way to Disney World ... never got over that ...
Up to today my main stash has had its own post code. In the coming days half of it will have its own vehicle registration number

This arrived today, and will be the centre-piece of my Armistice Day GB build. If anyone would like an in-box review, then shout!
Best wishes

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

I'm not big on car kits Arni, but I don't ever recall seeing that Matchbox Ferrari; was it generally available in the UK? Looks interesting!arni wrote:

The Airfix new tool B-25C/D has landed
It looks very nice inside the box, and a brief look through the instructions reveals the presence of some crew , and also a couple of interesting build techniques; integral open bomb doors with the bomb bay internals for example.
Another WWI tank, again this looks to be an excellent kit in the box
And to make the order up to the free postage value from Airfix, I added this to the B-25 order; the newly released Mk.Ia Spitfire; all together now: you can never.......
Interestingly, both orders were delivered in cardboard outers, thereby helping to protect the kit boxes from damage....unlike a certain online supplier from Somerset who only uses polythene bags and then ignores letters sent by registered post concerning resulting damage

Oooooh, that new tool Mitchell looks interesting. Any chance of a look at the contents in the forum's review section?
