Blitzbau House *** Finished ***

Post by Old_Tonto »

The Blitzbau House will be open for business tonight.

Image

Myself and Spaceowl will be building through the night and hopefully completing something resembling our intended victims.
Cosmic has double booked himself at an Engagement party so may turn up at some point. Very poor form!

Spaceowl is going to tackle this classic KP Spitfire:

Image

I've blitzed this kit myself so can vouch for it's suitability, not too many parts & decent fit.
I believe this will be the start of his next 'squadron' project which I'm sure he will tell you about later but here is a clue in decal form:

Image

My intended victim is this RS Models kit:

Lets see who can come up with the first Moose quip.
A bit of an unknown quantity this one as I've never built it or indeed any other RS kit before. With only 60 parts and not all of those required it ticks that Blitzbau box and although the individual pieces look very good the acid test will be how they fit together. :???: Another Blitzbau box tick from my choice of scheme and I had to choose the red one with arrow flash down the side. Because red never causes any problems does it?
It will hopefully add to my East German collection once complete.

Anyway, the end result of out two builds should look something like these:

The plan is to start at about 8pm tonight but as we are meeting for pre-Blitz drinks & fodder so anything could happen!
Straight 24 hours to complete our builds although I dare say sleep will occur at some point (as well as taking on liquids & possibly more solids).

Hope you guys can look in to see how we are progressing.

So you and the Owlman are going to do a night shift then, OT? You'll need plenty of stodgy calories for that, which will provide the energy to push on through the night. Personally I'd recommend parmo and beer. Let's face it, fruit and water just don't have the necessary calorific punch, being far too healthy and weedy and frankly neither is what I would expect to see being consumed in the Blitzbau House. By way of solidarity I'll have a pizza tonight washed down with a fair bit of cheapo supermarket lager. It's Friday after all :ha:

Best of luck boys!

Will do Iggie. Actually we forgot to buy booze but you can get it delivered around here. The sign of a civilized society.

The Yak is underway, lots of fiddly small parts to start with before I can get the fuselage halves together.

Image

Careful cutting required so probably a good thing that it is early on in the day (night).
Interior blue throughtout.

Robs Spitty is speeding along even though he forgot glue!

Lovely kit this one.

Presumably he's using sheer will power to hold it together.

First problem - the seats don't fit.

Image

Despite following the instructions drastic measures are called for so I sanded down the seat sides and made a sacrifice to the modelling gods.

Image

So all sorted now.

Image

The Spitfire is nearly there. too.

More to follow once my finger stops throbbing.

The Moose IP is done but I'm not sure how visible it will be once everything is closed up.

Image

Anyway, the interior is in so I have assembled the main parts together. There is quite a bit of excess plastic to clean up but that's only to be expected with a limited run kit.

Image

And the Spity is coming together nicely.

Image

Just about ready for paint me thinks.
