Gregs Hunter. ★FINISHED★

Post by Gregers »

I will be building a T7 from RAF Brawdy. The reason for my choice is I spent a week there with the Air Training Corps and saw these flying and even got to work on them.

All the best.

You might find it easier to build it from a model kit! :ha:

MB, Xtrakit, PJ Productions?

 Nice one. It will be the old Matchbox kit. I know the nose is wrong but I figure with a bit of work I can get it in shape, we'll see. Sprue shots soon, hopefully tonight.

All the best.

I got the sprue shot sorted only ti discover that there are a few parts missing. Fortunately it's the weapons pylons so I will have to build it clean. Shame as I wanted it with fuel tanks and sneb pods under the wings.

All the best.

A quick bit of progress with this one. A little bit of paint on the areas to go silver. Ie undercarriage bays etc. And a bit of assembly. The nose is drying ready for filing and sanding to shape. After that I can add nose weight then sort the cockpit out. One of the few kits you can do this with after closing the halves up.

All the best.

I considered thw nose dry enough to work with so after a quick file and sanding session this is the result. Though not perfect I think it is an improvement. Over to you guys to comment. Have I got it about right?

All the best

And the last picture for the night. Fuselage together and tipex filled. It will need another lot of tipex and then sanding. I got the nose so thin that it gave way at the extreme nose when I put the clamp on. An easy fix. Superglue and fishing shot will weight the nose.

All the best.

Does look like an improvement. I'd better get back to my bench - too much house painting to do.

More work got done today. More filling and sanding and as the nose side kept caving in when sanding I filled the nose with fishing shot and superglue then filled it again snd started sanding. This seems ya have worked. Hopefully I will finish sanding the fuselage and wings tomorrow. Then I can sort the cockpit and start assembly.

Allthe best.

Quite a bit of sanding and polishing later gives me this result below. Some of the same on the winds and it will be time to start assembly.

All the best
