Re: USMC Group Build
Glad to see you jump in Greg!
I think we have enough people to get this moving along so now the big question is when to schedule it. The calendar looks pretty busy but I’m not committed to anything so I’m flexible.
Thoughts and input from you. May or June could be good.

I've got a few kits that would fit in with this theme. May or June would be suit me.

Re: USMC Group Build
I appear to have a Fujimi EA-6A and some a/m decals for an aircraft that operated from USS Forrestal so I think I'm in. Just not in the run-up to Telford please

Oh no I wouldn’t think of that. I don’t want you fellas getting jammed up before Telford. I’m suggesting May/June.Dazzled wrote:I appear to have a Fujimi EA-6A and some a/m decals for an aircraft that operated from USS Forrestal so I think I'm in. Just not in the run-up to Telford please

Re: USMC Group Build
I got the strange urge to look for 18th & 19th century figures, maybe even something from WW1 or John Basilone. I want something a bigger than 54mm-ish.

Re: USMC Group Build
That would be fantastic if you could do a figure. I love the idea of 18 or 19th century Marine uniforms. I’m sure you’d do a masterful job!

Re: USMC Group Build
May and June clashes with the RAF 100 GB though. Might be a clash for aviation modellers.

Scary - I went out on Amazon and searched books for "USMC uniforms" then "marine uniforms". I found a few, but Amazon needs some filters - scary.

Re: USMC Group Build
I see May/June is a good for some of us and a conflict for others. We do have a pretty full calendar. I am open to other dates. Please chime in if you have a preference or ideas to shoe horn this onto the calendar.
Another suggestion to expand the scope is to include some other USMC related equipment ie amtracs or other landing craft. How about some artillary pieces too. Just thinking out loud. This will let you dust off an old kit from the stash you’ve been itching to do. Got an LCVP gathering dust? It hauled Marines..... it’s included!
Let’s hear some thoughts!

Re: USMC Group Build
I've spent an enjoyable few minutes trawling through my library finding USMC aircraft. Just have to see what I've got in stock. Possibly something from VMF-531 Grey Ghosts. Only like the squadron because of the badge but that's good enough for me!!.
Hoping to return to modelling sometime this year!!
