Airfix 1:76 Cromwell IV

Post by Springy67 »

After no completions for ages, I'm calling this one done too. Just noticed that I didn't pick out the tools but that will have to wait.

This is the recently issued Airfix Cromwell IV which I picked up as a gift set boxing from a charity shop. As always, with such charity shop finds, I use the glue and paints provided. It looks a little washed out in these photos but, as it was just starting to rain (you can see some drops on the table) I blame that on me rushing to get the pictures taken.

This is a cracking little kit and definitely benefits from not having the rubber band tracks.

The only difficulty was in getting the star on the turret roof to settle down over the raised detail. It needed significant amounts of Micro Sol but we got there in the end. Oh, and one of the rear mud guards needed the vertical piece thinning out so it didn't catch on the drive wheel.

Cheers

Nice ;-)
Been modelling for years, still learning . . . .
Model kits are meant to be assembled . . . . . . . . . . eventually.

Oh, Man, that is just lovely.

Nicely done, Springy. One of these days I will get round to buying this kit as I've heard so many good things about it.
