Airbrush Q: how to get tight demarcartion on wing edges?

Post by DavidWomby »

How do folks get a tight demarcation between underside colour and upperside camo along, say, the leading edges of the wing? I rubdown masking tape but generally let the tape stick out further than the leading edge and I still get some fuzziness to the line. If I fit the edge of the tape tight along the edges, will that work? Seems tedious but if somebody with experience advises it, I'll try.

I paint by brush but the principle is the same;
First make sure you have enough paint on the wing l/e for this; use fine wet & dry paper and lightly go along the l/e, sanding in light strokes, from root to tip. It has to be done carefully and just enough to remove a little bit of paint at a time
Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Hmmm. Sand off any excess, eh? I would not have thought of that. is it OK with acrylics?
