Another moldy (not really) oldie. The box is dated 1964, and as all of the others of this old series from Revell, the number of parts is low, usually in the mid twenty's, there is no wheel well or cockpit detail and raised rivets and panel lines were the standard. One thing for sure is that the box art was always pretty well done, and these were all the "frameable" box top art which was popular for us kids. The decals are pretty yellowed but the colors are bright and may work if I ever build it!

Nice oldie. Now I want one. Never built this one as a youngster as far as I remember.
All the best.

Stick 'em in the Tucson summer sun for a few days - that'll bleach 'em out!

That looks a nice oldie
I've built the equally venerable Airfix version but now may have to find one of the Revell kits for comparison!

Its very nice to see modern reviews of these old kits.
The Revell F2A was re-boxed many times, even into the 2000's, and is still easy enough to find. Over time, it lost that wonderful boxart and display stand, but gained better decals. Mine is the 1986 boxing with yellow wing and Finnish marking selections.

Did this ever get released in the Collectors choice 3in1 series? I have most of that series but would like to make it a complete set.

That's exactly right, and believe me, I've done that several times since we've been here! Works like a charm.PaulBradley wrote:Stick 'em in the Tucson summer sun for a few days - that'll bleach 'em out!

I never built the Buffalo, or the Polikarpov I-16 either. I never saw them on the shop shelves, they usually stocked the more recognizable (and more popular) kits like the Spitfire, P-47, Tempest, Me-262, etc.Gregers wrote:Nice oldie. Now I want one.
