Chasewater 60th Anniversary Gala

Post by general rocket »

For those not familiar with Chasewater Railway, it is a small concern based in Chasewater Country Park, a few miles east of Cannock just off the A5. Based on the route of an old colliery line (they call themselves the "Colliery Line"), it is just a couple of miles long running half way round the lake. Being industrial in origin, most of there locomotives are exindustrial.
About 20 years ago they lost 1/2 mile off the southern end of the line including their station and yard when the Birmingham Northern Relief Road was built across it. In exchange they had the new station and engine sheds and yard built for them by the contractors as a sweetener.
Four engines where in use today.
Two Bagnall saddle tanks. "Dunlop No6" "Kent No2"
One Bagnall diesels. "Myfanwy"
One North British Diesel.

Dunlop No 6.

The deer can often be seen walking unconcerned through the car parks and play areas.

Those saddle tank engines are really cute - they look like they should be in Thomas the Tank Engine.
