Updated Pictures: The Eagle has landed...

From Apollo and Soyuz, to Gerry Anderson, Irwin Allen, Star Wars and Trek to Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica and those strange, doe-eyed Japanese school girls...to any model kits you can think of, that only exists in imagination.

I actually don't think repeating the "hoax theory", even as a joke, should really be encouraged. I am very concerned that people who think along these line i.e. have parked any critical faculties backed up by actual knowledge in some sort of "brain dead box" are on the increase - so even laughing at them gives them a form of legitimacy they don't deserve.

It actually makes me quite sad that such a monumental achievement has been disparaged in such a way by a collection of imbeciles.

Brilliant work Fred, really really great looking build!

With regard to the 'hoax' issues, I also tend to agree with Eric, in that in this age of 'fake news' things are too often taken as fact when the reverse is actually the case; you only need to look at the 'reality-check' articles on the BBC website regarding some of the 'statements of fact' made by our own esteemed leaders to see how easy it is for those who should know better to get taken in by unverified statistics or stories.

On a happier note, for those of you who missed it, there is a fantastic series of podcasts available from BBC Sounds about the Apollo Programme in general, and Apollo 11 in particular; it is called 13 Minutes to the Moon. It is well worth a listen, there are twelve 40 minute or thereabouts episodes. Link: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/w3csz4dj
Best wishes

If any of these events that are called hoaxes were such, and were proven to be such, the hoax believers wouldn't believe it!!

A few years ago I was attending a 40th birthday party. A d.v.d. Of the Clangers was put on (for the children), very soon the kids where kicked out and the men took over the room, all shouting as one at the correct moment "sod it, the bloody things stuck again".
I wish, that I knew what was doing!

Bravo Gengriz...
As all have said the Airfix is miles better than the new Dragon offering and you have well and truly done it justice.
Obviously too late for this build but if you or anyone else plans to do "Kapton" covering on space vehicles, I found this.....
Su and I were in a party store and they had inflated balloons floating around the ceiling. I bought 2-3 different ones.

I used a thin, painted on "leafing adhesive" that works OK but I have had to go back and re-glue with super-glue.

I have 2 or 3 of those kits in the stash. AMS has prevented me from tackling the Airfix LM as you have, perhaps I should scale back my own expectations and dive in as you have.

Great job and thanks for the inspiration !!
Thanks,
Allan Buttrick
