Today I cut plastic disks to represent the rotors - not perfect but you can see my idea.

Great idea - a largerversion of the 'prop spin' method - how will you be representing the blades?

Never seen it done with a helo but it does work. It will add that something extra to the diorama.

Thanks for the positive comments everyone.
I'm not entirely sure yet Paul. The rotor blur on the artwork is a function of shutter photography. I've tried watching for helicopters over my house today, to see if I can spot the rotors. But 2 miles from Staverton, Tim wants to see a helicopter - so none flies past  .
My current thinking is a very light, very thinned airbush coat of matt black - to make the disks non reflective. If I can actually spot the blades in flight - then I'll make a mask for some very blurry blades.

Currently the decals are in a sun facing window, they are pretty yellowed 8-) .

I was watching a CH-46 at Quantico yesterday and the individual blades were very hard to see...you are probably on the right track with subtly shaded disks to depict the helo as it would be seen by the naked eye as opposed to the image captured by a camera...
Please critique my posts honestly i.e. say what you think so I can learn and improve...
