Union Pacific "Big Boy" #4014 back in service

Post by JohnRatzenberger »

One of 25 built, 4014 is the only one running after a lengthy restoration to put it back on the track for the 150th anniversary of the completion of the trans-continental railroad. It is on a huge loop encompassing much of the west, southwest, and the plains.

There are a number of videos and I recommend you simply google "up big boy 4014" then select the videos tab and watch away.

Look for a "Polar Express" video from Hays, KS, a few days ago for it in snow ...

Enjoy ! I wish I could get back to Kansas this weekend to catch a stop or two.

I will look it up and show my 9yr old. He is train crazy and loves polar express.

All the best.
