Sign-up and Chat

A mini-Blitz to recreate those days of long ago when we'd get a simple cheap kit around noon, assemble it, paint it, and be flying it around the room before tea/dinner ...
GB runs from 26 - 31 Dec; your host is FredK, assisted by Staff.

Not normally, as it was not completed in the GB parameters.
I tend to stick with that, but I'll give FredK an opportunity to comment.

If it has not been finished within the 'Afternoon' time slot then, no, it cannot go in the Finished Gallery. But do post it up within the build thread

I was in the middle of posting that that was the sensible way to go, unless you specified otherwise, but you beat me to it by seconds ;-) Things stay as the are (final pictures were already in the build thread)

Some of you know, some don't.
I'm having serious puter problems and can only spend a few minute logged on.
I cannot access all areas.
I'll ask John to not totally close up this GB too soon and I'll visit all your builds when I get sorted

Hey guys, I´m very impressed about what you can knock out in just a couple of hours!
I was going thru my stash, but I couldn´t choose a kit for this GB...
I don´t like to push myself too much when I´m modelling, because, for me, modelling is the discovery
and cherishing of slowness.
...on the other hand, that won´t stop me from participating in a BB some time again, because a 24h-time lapse
for building a model still thrills me, and I find it manageable, for my nature of modelling.
Waiting for the day, when wars for territory will be something to be read about in history books only.

Playing Tetris taught me: If I clean up too much, my kits disappear.....8-(

Having participated in this group build, I find myself agreeing with you Crashpilot. I prefer the slower pace at which I generally build - days and weeks rather than hours. Being on a limited budget, every kit I buy becomes a prized possession that requires my best effort to build. I can't do that when I am fighting the clock and just "rushing" through the process. I have never had the interest in participating in a BB. This group build experience just reaffirms my decision not to do any more "rush" builds.

Not budget related for me, but I'm somewhat allergic to deliberately not doing it right, whatever right might mean. Hence my selection of victims; one that I knew could be done right before I even started, the other little more than wreckage to begin with. I don't usually blitz unless I think I can do the kit justice in the permitted timeframe. Mind you, using proper advance planning and the right materials, some kits can be built well within a very short timespan; some of the Bandai SF stuff comes to mind here. Even in those cases, I prefer DNF to a botched build.

I am doing year-end changeover, so this GB will disappear from the Calendar on/around the 1st. I'll actually not archive it before the 5th, so you have time to get your threads closed up, galleries posted, etc. Good Job !

Has everyone got at least one photo of their finished builds into the Gallery?
Builds only finished inside the time limit are allowed tho.

I cannot access the Gallery either to see them nor to put my photos in.

Fred,

The Dauntless was not completed in time, I can remove it or leave it - your call.

Also, we can figure a way to get your Completion posted after I archive the GB once you get your computer fixed.

I may be able to get my build into the Gallery.
John, I'll try a PM to you later

Leave it in.
On that call; Anyone who tried but didn't complete in time but did complete their build - Put your build in the Gallery but mark it some way as not finished before bedtime
Lets see all the attempts in one place!

Got 1 done on time, the other not done on time due to unforseen family obligations.

Fun idea and GB - learned a lot and it was fun to go back to a time when I had no cares in the world.

Thank you Fred for giving this one a go. Thank you John for your usually great job taking care of these on the technology end.
