F J Soar; Model stockist in Mablethorpe

Recommendations of all those increasingly rare LMS's in a town near you, so the rest of us can find them and marvel! Also, the places near you where blokes approach you, furtively clutching the latest SAMI and smelling of resin.

F J Soar; Model stockist in Mablethorpe

Discovered this place today, although didn't venture inside but will do so soon. A range of Airfix and Revell kits are in the window so it bodes well for what lies inside.
I'll update when I've been back for a closer inspection
Best wishes

Jim
If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

I popped in when I was on holiday there earlier this year. Not a huge range but some lovely old builds hanging from the ceiling that look like they've been there for many years. A good range of art supplies as well. I brought a Revell Dambuster Lancaster - didn't need one (several in the stash) but just like to feel I'm doing my bit to keep shops like this open.
Just watch out for the opening times Jim - third attempt before I managed to get in - they don't always stay open until the advertised closing time at the weekend!

I've just booked a week in a caravan in Mablethorpe from 2nd October (2020) so hopefully will find this shop still open and prepared to accept some model tokens from me!

We called just after lockdown finished, so still going at that point :-D
I met the owner (a quite wonderful lady of later years) and her daughter (ex RAF) who remembers her father and brother making most of the models still hanging from the ceiling.
Let me know when you are going and I'll see if I can get into Mabo and meet you 8-)
Best wishes
