Resolution Class sub, Mikro-Mir

If it goes on or under the wet stuff and doesn't fly, it's in here.

Resolution Class sub, Mikro-Mir

Post by MarkyM607 »

Just a quick mojo builder this one. Mikro-Mir's Resolution Class sub. Not many parts so hopefully a quick build, in fact this was done last night and today to this stage. Not bad overall so far, the section that goes between the island (fin?), and the main hull has a funny gap along it's lower edge, but filled in fairly easily.

I think the gap was deliberate Mark; it allows water to drain out from around the missile tubes, the top sections of which are contained within the raised portion of the hull casing ;-)

You can see it in the second picture on this website: http://rnsubs.co.uk/boats/subs/polaris.html

Sorry!
Best wishes

Jim

He says AFTER I filled it in!!!!!!!
But that's a great help of course. The 'gap' on the model actually went nearly all the way along. twice what's in the pic, so I'll see if I can restore some of it. Appreciate the info search!.

Here's construction complete. She's had several coats of Matt Black since, during which a forward dive plane fell off!!. Back on now. Luckily decals aren't massive on these kits!!. Oh and the prop needs fixing on.

Nicely done, Mark, modern subs certainly have a great look to them although a bit like old Fords, they seem to come in any colour you like so long as it's black!
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

I've painted mine black!!! :-D . You're right though, although one or two I've done had red undersides which was a nice change on the display shelf!.

Thanks!, it's a favourite of mine. Only use lego for this. Don't play with it anymore. Honest. Ahem, cough. ;-)
