Less than 100 were built, the concept was dropped in favour of the Bf 109
Whilst rummaging I found one of my son's part-built kits
Let's see what I can do with it

Re: Ratch's 2020 goings on
I have started this Sopwith Pup as a quick build for an ATF GB. The instructions are a photocopied A4 sheet. The parts are moulded in light grey on two runners, sealed in a polybag. I have built one of these previously, many years ago and cannot recall anything about the build. I was surprised by the detail moulded. Whilst a long way from modern levels, it is good for a mould first issued in 1973. After washing the runners I have set about painting as much as possible.
I have assembled the cockpit of the He112 and airbrushed RLM02 as the base colour. The appropriate panels were glued to the nose cheeks. The instrument details were brush painted and strips of Tamiya tape were cut to make safety harness straps and fitted to seat.
I secured the seat to the starboard fuselage, test fitting with the port side. I constructed the propeller and joined the fuselage trapping the propeller. Even having test fitted, much tape was required to ensure the fuselage met.
The Lightning was sealed with Klear mixed with a little Vallejo 26.518 Matt Acrylic Varnish to give a slight satin finish. I removed the masking from the transparencies at this point and marked the canopy seal with a ruling pen.

Back with the Heinkel: Here's the pit - some gaps to fill at the wing root
I've decided to brush paint this.
Still mostly painting the Pup
I have yet to decide whether to drill and rig or just butt-glue as usual
Finished the Prussians

Blimey, turn me back for 30 seconds and two more kits hit the bench! I like the look of the He112, need to go and look that up and see why it lost out to the 109
Best wishes
Jim
