Dirk's MPC 1977 Dodge Monaco as seen in the TV Series Hunter

Post by Dirkpitt289 »

This is the MPC 1977 Dodge Monaco as seen in the TV series Hunter staring Fred Dryer (Hunter) and Stephanie Kramer Dee (Dee McCall). The series ran from 1984 through 1991. Hunter was a renegade cop who bends the rules and takes justice into his own hands. Partnered with the equally stunning and rebellious Sgt. McCall, the tough-minded duo set out to crack down on L.A.'s slimiest criminals. The show was cutting edge and almost canceled because of it violence.

LOL. Looks just the kind of classy Monaco Hunter was always pounding to death.

Great build Dirk. Being able to nonchalantly stick the light on the roof of the car at the same time as speeding off in pursuit was a mainstay of all US cop dramas of the 80's.

I'm not familiar with the show but that Monaco is very nicely done, Dirk and I think you've got the paint and weathering spot on to give the model real character.

Never seen the show and had to look it up.
Great work and a very good copy of the original. The weathering perfectly depicts a used and uncared for vehicle.

This car only appeared twice in season two. He spent more time in a blue and a green versions of the car in later seasons but they (In my opinion) were kind of boring. This one has more personality

And probably one great big hairy V8 under the "hood".

It looks a fearsome "street sleeper" of a cop car.
You could see him thinking "Bleedin'pilots, don't know nuffin. All glammer" He's probably right.
