Ice Dragon
I couldn’t find a Fantasy forum. So I hope this is ok here.
A friend of mine is introducing me to the world of Dungeons and Dragons. The campaign we’re looking to adventure through has an Ice Dragon. This wee little flying reptile was a Reaper Bones Ebon Dragon I bought on a whim about four years ago. With my introduction to tabletop adventuring I thought it would be good to paint him.
I had to use superglue to join the wings to body as it’s a soft pliable polly plastic similar to the type Airfix used to use in their poly tanks years ago. I used some green stuff to fill in the gaps around the wing joins and then sprayed him with Army Painter Matt white.
I gave him a wash of dark blue over the white and then came back in with a white dry brush. I added blue to the white to darken him as I reached the top of his back.
The spine was a darkish grey which I highlighted up adding in white and again dry brushing.
The base was from a random seller on eBay. This was painted brown and then highlighted up with, you guessed it, dry brushing. Skulls were painted sand and highlighted with successively brighter bone colours. I need to get some snow effect basing materials to add to the base and he’ll be done.
I think I’ll call him Cyril.

Re: Ice Dragon
Excellent work! If dragons were real, that would be very realistic
Best wishes

Re: Ice Dragon
Nice work. Very nice, in fact.
Fair warning though, if the DM plays its counterpart with the level of nasty intelligence dragons are supposed to have (instead of the brainless cannon fodder pre-built scenarios often reduce them to) it's going to be a handful. Maybe you can bribe/flatter it with this fine piece of art done in its honour

Interesting and well done.
I have always wished for the creative ability to visualize and then execute a project like this.

Delightful work!
Or chocolate. Dragons are partial to a little nibble of Dairy Milk. Especially ones named Cyril.rob_van_riel wrote: ↑August 3rd, 2021, 8:43 pm Fair warning though, if the DM plays its counterpart with the level of nasty intelligence dragons are supposed to have (instead of the brainless cannon fodder pre-built scenarios often reduce them to) it's going to be a handful. Re: Ice Dragon
Thank you all for your lovely comments.
Snow flock arrived this morning so I’ve added that to the base and fished off his eyes.
