Bandai 1/60 Ingram AV-98 #1 "Patlabor"

From Apollo and Soyuz, to Gerry Anderson, Irwin Allen, Star Wars and Trek to Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica and those strange, doe-eyed Japanese school girls...to any model kits you can think of, that only exists in imagination.

Bandai 1/60 Ingram AV-98 #1 "Patlabor"

Post by JamesPerrin »

Completing the Macross Destroid Monster got me in the mood for more mecha and so I decided to jump to another classic Anime "Patlabor - Mobile Police". This near future franchise from the late 80's (actually now set in the past) featured robots - labors - used for heavy construction work and the military. The police equipped with patrol labors get called in when people use labors for nefarious means.

The kit dates from the early 90's and though a step up from the old IMAI Macross kits with their use of polycaps its still a long way from the heights Bandai has reached in the last 20 years.

Interestingly if features rubber vinyl sleeves that cover up the skeleton. Dealing with these was something the had led to being in my stash for a long time.

After an hour though I had most of the subassemblies glued up.
