Model cleaning&repair

Post by Webbie21 »

Hello all ,

I am new here and wondering where I can take my uncles RMS titanic model that he gave me years ago to be cleaned , repaired ( mask has broke and various other parts have come away ). I would also like it to be put in a case.
I have searched on the web however can’t seem to find anyone or company that does this kind of work. I am based in North London.

Kind Regards

Dougie

I suggest you find and or contact a branch of the IPMS - International Plastic Modeller's Society.
There's bound to be a branch close to you
One of their members might take on the repairs for you

A few years ago a chap in Belfast came this route to our Branch and I rebuilt an old Albatross aeroplane for him

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

We also have at least one member of the forum who undertakes repairs of nautical subjects for museums who may be interested; is the model from a plastic kit, or wood do you know?
Best wishes

Hi , it’s plastic. I am going to say it’s at least 40 years old.

Kind Regards
