Bad Guy 1

From Apollo and Soyuz, to Gerry Anderson, Irwin Allen, Star Wars and Trek to Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica and those strange, doe-eyed Japanese school girls...to any model kits you can think of, that only exists in imagination.

This looks cool. A landship, indeed.

On to the road wheels, very much in style of British rhomboids and the later Churchills. The small road wheels are assembled from two halves with a rubber bearing inside, and then mounted on fixed axles that are molded on to the lower Hull.

The tracks an interesting construction, each track is made from two rubber bands that are joined together, and then the plates are fixed to the track. The plates were given a base coat of Black, then Airfix Rust (113), a coat of Ammo Shadow Rust will be next then dry brushed with some sort of metallic(s).

Those tracks are certainly unusual but will add plenty of interest to this already unique looking tank.

The tracks are now fitted to the tank, and pretty much slipped straight on with no problems.

Image

The crows nest/observation dome has also been placed in position. This chamber is mounted on a ram which raises it well above the Hull for reconnaissance and spotting and retrieve into the Hull. In the pictures below you can see the crows nest in the raised position and also in the position that it will remain in.

This is looking great. The razzle-dazzle camouflage is excellent.

The trench crossing extention has now been fitted, very much like the one the Renault ft17.

Feels like it should be smashing through a wall or something.

Just the one officer, not intending to use it, will probably look for a group of soldiers that are a little more real.

The finished turret is something of a beast.

I'm calling this finished now.

Annoyingly I keep finding bits that need tidying slightly.

And finally a couple of pictures with a random figure added to show the size of the beast. I do at some point intend to mount a couple of more suitable figures when something appropriate comes along.

It’s properly cool. Looks like a fortress on tracks.
