Thunder Over Flagstaff 2022 Air Event

Post by PaulBradley »

Our local airport held it's annual air event, run by the local EAA chapter. It's been a bit disappointing in recent years, but there was some excellent support from the US military this year. A pair of F-16s, both with special markings, from Luke AFB and a brood of US Marine Corps rotary type - a pair each of AH-1Z, UH-1Y and V-22. The southern Arizona-based PB-4Y Privateer also flew in and we had a flypast of a replica Spitfire. And just after I left - so no photos...- a US Army CH47 flew in, though I think it was just a transit bird.

Great pics, Paul; thanks for sharing!
That Spitfire is a replica?
I would have loved to experience the Privateer!

Cheers, guys!

Yes, David - a full-size replica made mainly of wood and powered by an Allison engine.
