PK-452 Rolls Royce Phantom 1 - Finished

Post by Natter »

This is the 1928 Rolls Royce Phantom 1 Sportsman Saloon as kitted by Matchbox in 1982. Humbrol gloss black, Mr Color wine red, model 'chrome' stripped and replaced with Alclad chrome and Bare Metal Foil chrome trim provide the main palette. Sundry other paints used included Tamiya and Vallejo and the number plate letters and numbers are from Motobitz's decal sheet.

Wow! That looks a beauty and could easily pass for that silly 1/24 scale  . I look forward to seeing this on display.

Thank you to everyone for the kind comments. The Skyservant is in progress so I'll post that once it is done.

Wow! I didn't know the old Matchbox kits could come out as good as that. Lovely work.

The best price on ebay is £30 for this kit. The rest are a lot more expensive,
So many models, so little time.

Did a quick check, and I bought this kit back in 2010 for the princely sum of £4:45 plus postage. That was back in the day when bargains could still be had on 'that' auction site.

I’ve felt that the prices for MB cars in general has come done the last year or two, but then the Rolls and Packard are altogether rarer than the smaller kits.
