RAAF museum, Bull Creek, Perth, Western Australia

Post by skypirate »

I visited this museum last month. It is mostly famous for the only other Lancaster in Australia (other than 'G' for George at the Canberra War Memorial), and more recently for its latest acquisition: Tornado GR.4, ZG791. The Lancaster is an ex-Aeronavale B.VII, NX622.

Gate guard - a replica Spitfire XVIe. Actually had me fooled, the moulding is so detailed!

Very squeezy inside; hard to get full-view photos of anything.

The Lancaster.

Sporting twin 50s in both these turrets.

The Tornado in accommodation that was still under construction. (An ex-RAAF F/A-18A joined it a week later).

Spitfire 22.

ARDU Huey.

Anson.

There's some nice detail for the new 1/48 kit.

Plenty of scale models distributed throughout the museum.

Thanks for looking! Well worth a visit!

Best wishes

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing
