Revell F-111C RAAF
Revell F-111C. Done for the Swinging Sixties GB as A8-125 late in her service. She was, IIRC the first to arrive in Australia and was definitely the last F-111 to fly ever.
The build is here https://uamf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=484&t=24844
F-111s became famous for their display of 'Dump and Burn' when fuel was sprayed out of the dump pipe and into the jet exhaust.

Very nice! The 'dump and burn' shots are really good
Best wishes

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Wow!
Top stuff, David!
As you might guess, I witnessed the dump and burn several times. Always amazing!
Cheers,
David

Re: Revell F-111C RAAF
Thanks, gents.
David, you're lucky to have seen it often. I had never seen an F-111. Then in 1999 work moved me to Portsmouth, New Hampshire. I knew this was the home of the FB-111 fleet at Pease AFB. Except they moved out a year or so before I got there!
I had given up then but in New Zealand at the 2006 Wanaka airshow - there were the RAAF F-111s. So I finally got to see one and it did the dump and burn. One of the highlights of any show I've been to.

Re: Revell F-111C RAAF
Nicely turned out model of the beautiful aircraft. My 1/48 scale version takes pride of place in my collection.
I've lived in Brisbane for a considerable part of my life which is near the Amberley airforce base where Australia's squadron of F111's was based. We used to go down to the annual Riverfire festival which was basically fireworks, music and the F111 dump and burn along the Brisbane river. The kids loved the fireworks but I really loved the flypast. Coming in low and going down and around the river amongst the sky scrapers. It was pretty exhilarating. Nothing else like it.

Fantastic model! I have many fond memories from childhood of watching F-111s doing dump-and-burn runs at Schofields or Richmond airshows.Always a crowd-pleaser.

Considering what a horrible old kit you were fighting with, you've done a marvelous job there - you've even managed to make a low-viz jet look interesting, not something easily done! I like the dump-and-burn you've rigged up too - full marks!

Nice one David, used see these in the area around RAF Lakenheath in Norfolk, mid to late '80's - not seen the dump and burn thing though, no doubt I can find it on YouTube!

Very nice David, I do like how that came out (My F-111's are a looooong way behind). As others have said, I do like the dump and burn shots - how did you make it, painted cotton wool?
Stuart Templeton I may not be good but I'm slow...

Re: Revell F-111C RAAF
Thanks, everyone.
Stuart, yes the flame is cotton wool spread over a perspex rod. The rod is drilled to fit over the dump pipe at the end of the F-111's boat tail. It's airbrushed with yellow and some orange. Took about 15 minutes to make, paint and attach. Fully removable.

Excellent model there, and I must say some fabulous photography!

Re: Revell F-111C RAAF
Very nicely done, David. I remember seeing an F-111 doing one of those spectacular burn outs at an air display over here in the 70's but I can't recall whether it was Aussie or USAF.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.
