I have bookmarked this thread, and I will refer to your tips when I tackle my next attempt at a diorama.
I mainly build 1/72 military aircraft, so a small selection of A4 diorama bases is a modest goal for me.

Wow! You must have excellent eyesight. That is fantastically detailed in 1/72nd scale, I struggle to see detail on 1/35th scale figures. Lots of ideas for me to try in 1/35th. Truly excellent!
