Dad's Army, unseen footage in 1/72.

Whole chunks of real life...scaled down, figures in all scales...even footballers!

Dad's Army, unseen footage in 1/72.

Post by B4en »

This was done for Blitzbau XXXIV, a tribute to recently departed Ian Lavender and the rest of the Dad's Army gang. About 20 hours solid modelling over two days - phew! That was pretty tough. Only Pike and Mainwaring are here - having a typical encounter by the gun. The rest of the cast were obviously keeping well out of the way down the pub!

The kits are the Ace Smith Gun and an old Kielcraft Thornycroft truck. Figures from Airfix/Dapol and Strelets. Base, sandbags and (working) gate were scratched up with a few bushes etc. from Hornby.

The premise and title: "You stupid boy! How are we supposed to get in?"

The past, present, and future walked into a bar. It was tense.

Excellent and very well done for getting it completed.
It's only pain, work through it.

Well done for the completion and the integrity of the scene !!
I'm glad the Thorneycroft came in civilian attire.

Thanks both of you! This really was a challenge in the timeframe, but a lot of fun.

Me too. I did consider making it a military style Home Guard vehicle but honestly I think it looks much better in 'civvies'.

No plans to David - at some point I'll tart up the base some more to reuse it. Glad you like the scene though!

Super - and a real achievement given the amount of time you had. Congratulations.

Impressive in its own right as a diorama, again as a connection to many fond memories and many many times as a Blitz build...
Please critique my posts honestly i.e. say what you think so I can learn and improve...
