If it's possible to use something less poisonous, that would be an advantage :)
Dettol liquid antiseptic - with Chloroxylenol, whatever that is! ;-) It definitely works on old enamels - not sure about modern acrylics as I usually undercoat with enamel but it has certainly taken both layers off when I've made a mess of things and had to restart.

Back in primary school they used to dab it onto cuts and grazes and it stung like crazy!
The past, present, and future walked into a bar. It was tense.

Outstanding recovery KM - looks fantastic! I once hand painted a Gladiator in that scheme - never again.

Dettol will remove acrylics with ease -- and an old toothbrush powered by elbow grease. I've used it to strip acrylic paint from a resin model and I'm fairly sure it will work on styrene without problems.

Getting back to the model, I must disagree about the pre-shading: from the look of the photos, the pre-shading comes through quite well -- almost too well, given that the surface is meant to be fabric. If anything, I'd have added another coat to hide it even more -- but then, I am no fan of pre-shading in general, considering it to be heavily overdone on most models that use it, so YMMV, particularly with the vagaries of lighting and photography. It's a very nice model regardless, in a very smart paint job. Well done.

You are right, seeing it on the laptop screen has the pre-shading much more visible than on the mobile phone screen. The real colour Impression is somewhere inbetween. The idea behind the shading on the fabric covered rudders is, that the metal frame supported area is "higher" than the areas that are fabric only and might be a little "lower", if that makes any sense .. 🤔☺️
Anyways, thanks for your kind feedback! 😀🤝🏼😀
BTW, what does YMMV mean?

Wow, that is a really great build and is one of the best I've seen of this Airfix oldie.

Thank you both! ☺️
You are right, the canopy looks good, even better than the original, but I made the experience that vac canopies are yellowing over the years, even if not overly exposed to sunlight, thus spoiling the look of the model quite badly  :-|
So to be honest the only reason for using it was the absence of the original... :-D

Thanks a lot!

It's also bad photography and wise choice of viewing angle that make it seem this way :-D
