Tamiya 1/700 USS Enterprise

If it goes on or under the wet stuff and doesn't fly, it's in here.

Tamiya 1/700 USS Enterprise

Post by Battletweety »

Got this kit as part of a xmas present. Not a huge fan of the kit but it was a nice diversion from my current benchwork.
Used Measure 21 Camo to depict the carrier as she might have been around early 1944, especially since she has corsairs on deck which didn't arrive until January 1944.
Used Tamiya XF82 Ocean Gray2 for the hull and the flight deck was covered with a coat of XF78 Wooden Deck Tan then a light spray of Ak5001 Deck Blue 20B.
Most challenging part was cutting the thin piece of wire provided in the kit for all the .50 cal machine guns around the flight deck.

Nice job on this old classic! I liked this kit as a kid as it went well with my Revell 1/720 scale fleet (as it is slightly undersized for 1/700).

I've seen this on your WW thread, BT, but it's worth a further comment as it turned out very nicely and the looks are nicely enhanced with the Air Wing ranged at the rear of the flight deck like that.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Work is the curse of the modelling classes!
