Many of my modelling buddies stick to typical American car types; muscle cars, dragsters , nascar etc. I like them too but I also like less common subjects such as these three.
A worked colleague had a1955 Studibaker Hawk which was virtually the same as this Starliner. A nice car. The Edsel is typical of the oddball designs like the Tucker, rammed full of gymics most of which was unreliable at best.
The Chevy is more mainstream, similar to the popular names like Ford,Chrysler, etc.

This is a superb kit, had it quite a while. Promodeller are basically Monogram kits, quality and detail is nothing short of excellent ( wonder where Tamiya got their inspiration from ) even the chrome parts are great. This also has two options for factory and street custom. Of course with all the option parts including a couple of sets of wheels you could build your own custom design.

Airbrushing for me in the winter is a bit awkward, extractor hose through an open window makes my hobby room pretty cold and quickly.
So I spend my time preping for the better weather.
Made start on the '48 Ford Convertable a couple of months ago, here a couple of pics of a body/ chassis dry fit. This is a lovely kit, the detail and fit so far has been superb.

Nice work. I have always thought the grill of the Edsel amusing. Probably because of how I once heard it described, but this is a family forum so let's not go there,

Love the old Fords, great start.

The patches on my cutting matt are the result of accident, momentary lapses of reason etc. So another little job done to prevent ever happening again. I know you can buy them but used up some odds of plastic and and about an hours work.
When the airbrush comes out again I'll give it a black satin coat.

I have a few '50's kits in my modest stash, see pic.
These kits are difficult to get in the UK although I have found a supplier who just does American car kits on a small basis.
