I'm finishing off a few Essex 25mm which are quite small compared to my favourite Front Rank miniatures I'll measure the Essex and compare sizes with yours if you don't mind doing a bit of measuring? I'll never wargame again but would like to try some 15mm figures as I've quite enjoyed doing the smaller scales.

25mm are a bit bigger than 1/72.

There's 25mm foot to top of headgear, 25mm to top of head, 'heroic' 25mm ie 28mm, 25mm to eye level I'll have a measure these are Essex miniatures which come in as quite small for 25mm I've only owned them 40 years and they've just reached the front of the painting queue let alone knowing how tall they are

I've never measured figures. I mix 1/72 and 1/76 because not all people are the same height. My rough method of scale conversion is 4mm to the foot (from model railways), because its an easy conversion. 25mm = 6' 3" ;-)

The Essex miniatures I'm painting at the moment measure out at 25mm foot to top of head so a bit taller than yours but like cadets next to Front Rank miniatures 28mm - 30mm to top of head but really nice figures.

52nd Oxfordshire Light Regiment
The Light Infantry were uniformed in a similar fashion to the Line, but retained the stovepipe shako, which bore a bugle-horn badge and green plume. The shako with the tuft at the front. Officers were distinguished by wings and carried the curved flank company sabre. Other ranks also wore wings and carried a shorter and lighter version of the Brown Bess musket.

Drummers wore reversed colours and had lace decoration to facings and to sleeve arms and back seams of the jacket. Their sleeves were covered with five, lace chevrons, point up; drums were brass, the hoops usually in the facing colour.

I do like the descriptions of the differing uniforms you give with your figure posts Ratch.

The 52nd were pivotal in defeating the imperial guard attack at Waterloo, I watched the battle part of the film yesterday afternoon and it was completely ignored. Nice figures Ratch i can't work that small.

Black country I'm afraid thick in the arm & head! it would be the 6th Warwickshire as it's the family regiment up to my father's time.
Would it be alright to post some pictures of my figures on a new thread they're all metal I'm afraid?
