Decals are on.

Reg said they didn't like the star on the turret because it gave the Germans a target to aim at, so the put it on the engine compartment.

Nearing the end of the build now.

Same with the Cromwell - on to weathering. I applied a wash of Mig Productions 00425 Filter 1508 - Green for Allied Vehicles. I was not very impressed with the effect. When this was dry, I used a torn piece of sponge to sparingly apply some chipping on edges and around hatches.

I then fixed the tools on the hull.

I've had to take a break for a couple of days, having woken up with a stiff neck. it was really painful on Tuesday, but has eased a little each day since. It is still sore today, but a bit more mobile and I could get a couple of hours at the bench before I needed to rest it again. So a little more paint on the Oxfordshires.

A little tinkering on the Dutch base. I added grass scatters, fixed with PVA, then painted the front step. Some more natural scatter was used for moss growth on the roofs.

It is basically complete now, though I could tinker some more. Time for some reflection.

Same with the bocage base.

Can I do any more to improve the ground cover, or can I call it done now? Just the tree canopy to add, but I don't want to do that until I'm content with the undergrowth.

I got back on the Cromwell today. Looking again at the applied wash, I can see an uneven sort of patina over the tank. I sprayed an overall coat with Vallejo 28.518 Matt Acrylic Varnish. This was followed by various Mig Pigments sprinkled over white spirit. I then brushed a little Mig Pigments P234 Rubbed Dust over Mig Pigments P249 Fixer. Plastic rod made the aerial. A final wash was laid down using Vallejo Game Color 73202 Pale Grey Wash mixed with 73203 Umber Wash.

If I'm happy with this tomorrow, it will get a final matt varnish.

Ayup Ratch,

Lovely Dutch buildings.
The best thing, is to keep on building. Clap your hands, stamp your feet, wiggle your fingers…

I think I'm happy with it now. I airbrushed a final coat of matt varnish on her this morning.

I will be adding it to the diorama base I've made for it with a few figures, so look out for further developments

The Oxfordshires are done.

I bought these recently. I sprayed Mr Muscle Oven Cleaner on them and left them overnight. This morning I washed off what I could.
Image
I have started painting them.

Nicely finished Cromwell, Ratch!
And excellent shading on the soldier's faces!
