Very nice - you don't see that many sub's being built.

The extras add to the look and will give your sub much more substance. Good progress.

I added the anhedral stern planes that are on the lower side of the hull between the stern planes. These were not in the DML kit, but were extra from the Hobby Boss LA Class sub kit I had, so these were added as the USS Hampton had them.



Next will be adding some deck details and then off to paint.

Modeling goes on, even if at a glacial pace.....I finished this Matchbox / Revell 1/72 M1 Abrams tank.







And I have also built the Mikro Mir 1/350 Skipjack sub...









This one is finishing up now.

Two great looking builds.

I built the Revell M1 last year - it's a nice little kit, although I suspect yours looks better than mine.

The USS Scorpion is done! This was a very pleasant build considering the limited run nature of some of MikroMirs kits. The kit went together very well though I choose to scratch build of modify the kits masts for a bit better appearance.



The USS Hampton is also finished, I Hope to have the final pictures of her in the next day or two.

Next project, as break from submarines

The Bayraktar TB.2 in 1/48 scale.



Clear Prop also released several accessory sets for the kit as well which I picked up, these include masks, resin wheels, and a small P/E set.



The parts are very nicely molded with very fine inscribed panel lines and details.





The decal sheet includes several marking choices for Ukranian Bayraktar's, however the kit includes the original 2 blade prop, vs. the three blade props that are now fitted. Another release of the kit rectifies that issue though.

Well done on the sub, Ernie. I welcome your drone project. Looks fun.

Made a start on the Bayraktar, main fuselage assembled. Have some very minor sanding of the seams to do, and some photo etch detail to add before moving on with the assembly.



The main body of this is very small, much smaller than I expected.

I also grabbed another drone off the shelf of doom to try to finish as well. This is the Skunk Works Model kit of the MQ-9 Reaper. This has been on the shelf of doom for 8 or 9 years! It had accumulated a nice layer of dust that needed to be washed off before resuming the attempt to finish it. All the necessary parts were accounted for except the clear window for the sensor turret.



And because the shelf of doom is not always a happy and safe place, one of the wing tips was chipped off. I sanded the broken edge smooth and traced the shape of the wing tip onto a piece of .020 styrene and glued that in place. It was further blended in with a light coat of putty and sanding.



More as it happens, hopefully updates will follow more frequently!
