And Part 3
This was a fun build and I'm glad I did it but to be totally transparent its a build I am unlikely to do again. it was tough and very frustration at times and I'm an adult. But for kids to go through this its crazy. But then again as kids we saw things quite a bit differently and the goal was different. But it is something I would suggest others do and go back to their roots of model building. Its an eye opening experience

Just had a look at your videos - thats an amazing finish, for what minimal tools you were using!
I got that horrible Testors brush, too, so I got an idea about the hardship you were facing with this build
(I use it only, for masking canopies)
I like to build old kits, too, but I dont dare to refrain from using most of the tools that come in handy, during the build, because
it would become too much of an uphill battle for me - well, you were brave enugh for this battle, Dirk, congrats!

Waiting for the day, when wars for territory will be something to be read about in history books only.

Wow, you actually got a good result despite the limitations you forced on yourself. Amazing!
The past, present, and future walked into a bar. It was tense.

Nice build, It came out better than my fisrt futile attempts in 1963. I used better brushes then, big old mop brushes. I also notice you used no filler, I quite liberally slopped on Revell tube glue as a filler back then, I now know why so many models got giant sink marks now 50 years later! Funny you mentioned C-130s, I gawked at my older brothers models as a kid and that got me into this crazy hobby, he eventually went into the USAF as an officer via ROTC in 1970 and was a maintenance officer of a "flock" of C-130E Herks at Forbes the last 3 years it was open.Nice job but I still would go with a rattle can even today, the hairy stick syndrome is something I won't return to, fully enjoyed your video though, brought back memories!
1964-2024- too many years, too many glue fumes!
