Of course. But that is why I have two piles: The Altar to Plastic and the Pile of Shame.

I am partial to Harriers ... and there's been one or two added since that photo was taken ....

Chris, the Romulan BoP may have been rare at the time I bought it, but surprisingly I didn't have to pay a great deal for it (probably because the kit came partly assembled and painted). Of course, the Romulan BoP has now been repopped (and improved!) by Round2 and is dirt-cheap.

The Enterprise-C you see is the not-rare-at-all 1/2500 version, and like all of the Round2 releases is very easy to find. I don't have one of the 1/1400 version, which does seem to be rare and so far has eluded my grasp. I'm hoping Round2 will re-issue it.

The actual rarity in my collection is the 1968 (!) release of the AMT Klingon D-7, in mint condition, which I paid a pittance for. (Well, "rarity" may be overstating it, but I certainly didn't expect to pay as little as I did for it.) Of course Round2 are soon to re-release that, too, but not with the lighting kit components that came in the box I have ... (not that lighting kits interest me much).

Pointless me even taking a photo - my stash is almost non-existant compared to the pics here.
Currently consists of only 7 kits:
Revell's 1/32 BAe Hawk, and 1/72 Dambuster Lancaster.
Airfix 1/48 Hurricane I, and 4 in 1/72 - Mossie, Spit Vb, Helldiver, and RE-8
Not even sure it qualifies as a 'stash'
Currently on bench: ICM 1/72 Tupolev Tu-2

Twas rare here for ages bruce!

I remember buying that d7, those AMY kits were horrible, little detail and engineered so poorly they would break all the time.

I can't count how many times I regued nacelles and the booms of D7s when i was a kid!

The Spitfire bit looks like this . . . I have some others too.

I have a reasonable excuse too. 8-)

I have quite a few more now and a load built. Like socks, you can never have enough. You don't end up with loads of odd ones though.
So many models, so little time.

my stash went under a strategic reduction last year when we moved and it made sense to dispose of some that i know i would never ever build on ebay.....trying hard not to let it grow too much.............theres about another 30 or so kits in 'deep storage' in a cupboard, including some big sized ones like hms victory and a TIE fighter double set

Well, it would be weird if they were all hurricanes!

Most of my stuff is currently pretending to be loft insulation. But, I do have a few kits in my current 'to do' pile and this is they!

Bl**dy hell! My wife would go catatonic if I had that lot in my study. She's already peeved that a lot of my kits are neatly stacked up in the loft out of sight!
She made me have a 'stock take' a while back and it transpired that over the past 40 years, I've amassed over a thousand kits. That includes the 'special' stash that are still in boxed up in storage with some of our furniture. There is no way on earth that I am ever going to be able to build them all, so realistically, I should start selling them off. I know that's the right thing to do but they are my 'babies' and I really want to keep them safe!

I fear that there is no hope for me......

The magnificent solution to this problem is to announce you won't be building them, and that they are no longer a stash, but a collection!

Mind you, I have a stash of non-Airfix items about that size too, so I'll have to devise a cunning plan for those too, or start building fast!
