Looking around for interior shots, there were far less than I was expecting.
So I went to Eduard and looked up the pdf's for their 1/48 interior PE set;
http://www.eduard.com/store/out/media/49408.pdf;
I wish I hadn't, now!
The 1/72 set seems much less intimidating and, being simpler, more easy to replicate with bits and bobs.

Here we go,
The colour call out is for "grey/green" interior. Do you reckon that the Criquet would have had the same interior or do you know different Bruce?

I kn ow that there were plenty of ex-Luftwaffe aircraft about and that these found their way into many different hands. I also know that the Czechs built their own, post-war.
I would imagine that any French/ex-French aircraft were ex-Luftwaffe and that H31 would suffice for the interior.
I notice that the Academy kit does not have the different tailplane options of the SMER/Heller kit. (I'll get some pics up soon). It does, however, have a reasonable interior, to help supplement my Eduard instructions.

Bruce

I have H31 on hand and I was leaning towards that being the right stuff. I have been looking at the Eduard bass instructions that you have linked and I will copy a little of the detail seeing that the windows are so big and clear. The motor is nice isn't it?

That'll be French Criquet, so England may have a chance.

I can play Academy Criquet , you don't want to see me play sport, you'll have nightmare's for years.
Well thanks for the link to the brass plan's Bruce they came in handy for scratching some interior detail. I had to do some trial runs to make sure the half's would close up properly.
And with some paint applied. There is enough detail on the out size of the kit to just keep going with the build now, no more scratching should be necessary I feel.
And closed up.

I note on the box it says "fully engraved panel lines"Nax wrote:

Good point James, I never took any notice of the engraved line's, it hasn't got any. Bruce the kit is the one pictured at the start of the post, why? is it different?
I bought it from a vendor at last October's local modelling show for $10, it was sealed in cellophane? at that price I grabbed a Stuka and a Mk II Hurricane as well, they've all been great builds so far.

I didn't think we were starting this one until the 28th?
I'll continue my research on the SMER kit and, as a consequence, will be better prepared to follow you from Wednesday. (I wonder how the seatbelts were arranged for that rear seat?)
Regards,
Bruce

Re: Academy 1/72 Storch/Criquet - 28th October
Sorry Bruce I'm a moron.
I work seven days on and seven days off and I've had a weeks holiday in between my seven day shift to get my surgery done, so I have been off work for 19 days and I often get date's and time's wrong or just plain forget about them. This is one of those moments I have to do a days overtime tomorrow so you'll have 18/20 hours to catch up a bit. Sorry about that. We're not racing anyway, I was wondering when you were going to post something up. That's why I made the sugar comment, I thought you were making the storch along side the Criquet at the same time in another thread. I need sleep I think.

Mine has the finger latch type.MerlinJones wrote:I didn't think we were starting this one until the 28th?

You hang onto the seat with your fingers latched firmly on the sides. I did ponder the rear belt but left one out when I couldn't decide how it should fit.
