Jim's Spit on a stick..

Post by Jagewa »

Well most of mine are on a stick, but we have a fibreglass copy on a stick on the way to Christchurch airport, TE288, which in the metal is in the RNZAF museum here. I remember when it was taken off the stick and taken to Blenhiem where they made moulds from it, for the replica, during the 80's. My cousin used to work in the hangar they were doing the work in and got to have a look at it in the fibre glass, very cool and I was surprised how big it seemed.

The copy they put on the stick got torched, and they made a replacement.

So I think I'd like to do it on the stick, either in it's pre state or as the firbeglass copy....

Cheers

As long as you don't do the torched one......

:ha: it did cross my mind, but I've had enough masochism with the Apaches I'm doing...

Mandy (SWMBO, my soul mate) works out the airport, and has accepted a mission to get some current reference photos of the current plasspit on a stick.

Grabbed the kit out of 'The Stash' this afternoon...

The obligatory box shot...

Oh the green on the DoGE option, what's up with that?

Image
Parts with a bit of paint splashed on them before dinner time.

Those radiators sure look deep, must resist, must resist...

RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!!

Yeah so I couldn't stand them being so well endowed, so razor out then a few swipes with my sanding block...

Much better..

I am very impressed with the kit, and is falling together.

They sure are, she has a great eye, I really like the tail shot (4th one down).

She is going to get some of Spitfire today... I can't think of any others around the city on sticks, so we should be golden
