Re: Titan's sand shark
Thank you Shaun.
I mixed some Nato black with some Tamiya white to make a very pale grey and then mixed about 70% Tamiya thinners to paint to give me a very diluted colour to spray the wear marks onto this model's fuselage, boom and skids. Once I was satisfied with the amount of wear I then oversprayed the whole model with Tamiya buff mixed with white and again highly diluted it with Tamiya thinners, this blended everything together and dulled down the black decals somewhat.
The tubes have been painted, decals applied and then attached to their respective places.
Not much more to do now, I will give it a coat of Tamiya flat and maybe add a few water marks here and there and then make a rotor sock tip and tie downs....maybe.
Regards
Mark

Looks a lot better for the superb weathering you've done.

Yes indeed, the weathering is fantastic and enhances what was already pretty damn good.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Re: Titan's sand shark
Well thank you guys for the comments.
After a coat of Tamiya Flat I unmasked the canopy and now it looks proper mean like.
Anyway I think I will call it finished for now as am going to be busy working for the next week or so and only have to really add the tie downs it seems a bit silly having on the bench doing nothing.
Anyway here is a photo of the real Sand Shark which was posted on Airliners.net. from where I got an idea on the gray wear around the airframe.
And here is the finished model.....
I know I say this often but this was an enjoyable build for the age of the kit and although I was disappointed at myself for ruining the IAF decals(which was my first choice) this actually has turned out better than I expected as the Sand Shark.
Thanks for looking.

Really sharp. Can you tell us how you painted the "Disco light" on the dog house?

Re: Titan's sand shark***FINISHED***
Sorry Jeff I kind of rushed through this build slightly and omitted a few details so sorry for that.
The IR Jammer was painted first with the base colour, then a coat of klear was applied left to cure and then I used Tamiya clear orange and just dropped it into the caged area, I then went around the raised detail with a pencil when dried.
I couldn't find any clear photos of this area but the ones that I did see seem to suggest that the raised detail is at least light gray or even silver.
For the ties I thought about putting two pieces of Tamiya tape back to back , painting them red and then cutting into thin strips this will mean some touching up but the strips will be thin.
