I would be up for this as have both the Sea Fury (for Korean War) and the Fokker D-XXI to do Dutch.
So, what bits need to be updated on these 2 kits to get something decent (but not too expensive)?

Maybe I can squeeze in. I've got a Su-21 somewhere in the stash. So if there is not too much on my plate by then in real life I'll be happy to join you lot.

The fokker and Sea fury are quite close and only need minor tweaks, the cockpit, wheel wells and the oil cooler & air intakes in the wing root are all you need improve on the Sea Fury and for the fokker a new engine to fit the cowlings & a few extra details in the cockpit will sort it out nicely. If you want to go to town on the Sea Fury there are aftermarket parts available that are quite cheap and Xtradecals do a varied Sea Fury sheet.philp wrote:I would be up for this as have both the Sea Fury (for Korean War) and the Fokker D-XXI to do Dutch.

I did a face off build of the Frog and PM Sea Furies here- http://uamf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=3800;
This is how I detail the Sea Fury wing, all done with plastic card and a little filler.

The PM kits are about half the price of equivalent Airfix boxings Ryan, dead cheap to buy.

Re: PM Models Group Build January 1st 2013
Well I found a kit. Should be here just in time for the build.
Won this tonight EvilBay. Just about $10 with shipping
I've heard some negativity about this kit but that was AFTER I won it. Oh well, we all enjoy a challenge every now and then don't we? Now I need to find a cool paint scheme for it or just use the kit scheme.

Re: PM Models Group Build January 1st 2013
Dirk, I have one in my stash but have not until now opened it. The parts are free of flash with very fine raised line details it has a good stores load and Argentinian markings for one each of the IAI Dagger and the mirage III EA. The one criticism I would have is that the elevons are marked as fine raised lines with the rest of the panel lines and need rescribing to make them stand out but this is but a few moments work using the kit lines as a guide. The cockpit is simple, the undercarriage looks quite good. The decals are simple but look OK. it does not have the parts count of a Revell Eurofighter Typhoon but it is simple, well moulded and very buildable. I don't know anything about the Mirage so cannot speak for detail accuracy but it certainly looks like a Mirage to me.

Re: PM Models Group Build January 1st 2013
The decals on the Dagger are an odd mix. Only the Dagger ones are really usable as you can't build the Mirage with the kit without modification. The interior as David has stated is sparse. The intakes need blanking off and the shock cones need extending to the rear as these are visible, also the intake lip need thinning. I have one part built at work for display. I'll try and get some photo's of it as it stands.
