I am not sure if I can manage this during September, but Biggles would press on regardless

So I think, a Revell 1/72 Sopwith Camel, as illustrated in this Random House cover:

So, would the Launcester Aircraft Company have shortened their name to Lonsters, I the style of the old Gloucestershire/Glosters? Launcesters is such a mouthful......

Hey, I hadn't made the Gloucester -> Launcester connection
Nice work!

That's surely what inspired WEJohns' naming in this story, particularly given the alliteration: Gloster G__ / Launcester L__

So, how do you folks pronounce Launcester ? Lawn-sester ? Lawn-ster ?

It looks like he was aiming at Lawnster or even lawncester.

Also:
Gloster Gladiator
Launster Lance (i.e. a thing what gladiators used in combat)

Just an idea re WEJ thought processes. He often seemed to do that sort of thing.

Now, where's this yarn thread? We need to see this!

So I discovered I didn't have a copy of Biggles Second Case. Fixed now (eBay).
I'm thinking of trying to fit in a Tarpon build along with my Auster. Either that or stick with the Vandal. I'm prevaricating shockingly on this one.
