I'm happy with the way the intakes have turned out, all I have used is some scrap plastic card to finish off the ends.

I can fully recommend the new Airfix 1/72 GR1 or GR3 kit, the part fit is spot on with no filler required and the detail is fine.

As sleep eluded me for several hours last night, the pilot got some attention.

Nice work on the pilot, are you doing it in flight or wheels down?

I'm surprised buy the lack of detail on the ejection seat, this will require plenty of added detail as it will be quite visible if I leave the canopy open.

Maybe some of the larger models could need retooling at some point.

I agree Splash - I built the GR.1 last year and it was a super kit.

Nice work on those intakes BTW, and I must take a pic of my resin seat for you!

Cheers

Thanks chaps, I may be sliding into figure painting if I can find more this size!!.... I thought of wheels down, sort of ready to roll perhaps with ground crew if there are any this scale.

Tamiya or Fujimi Racing mechanics make decent ground crew.

I agree 1/24 is a good scale for cars so any of the mechanic figures could be converted into ground crew.

Great work with those intake doors Splash and a good idea to get hold of the 1/72nd new tool kit to help out with some of the missing details (that is a great looking kit BTW). It has to be said that the ejection seat of the 1/24th kit is lacking in a bit of detail as it comes!

Good bit of figure painting Marky!
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Work is the curse of the modelling classes!
